VMEC-1 and VMEC-2 Eddy
Current Instruments

Practical Physics in partnership with VM
Products, Inc is pleased to announce the release of our first
eddy current instrument. The VMEC-1 and VMEC-2 are broad frequency
USB instruments running on the Microsoft Windows platform.
Desktop, hand held, and touch screen software come standard
with the purchase of the instrument. This is an ideal instrument
for replacing magnetic penetrant inspection because it provides
a low cost entry point into eddy current testing and provides
features and performance found on considerably more expensive
systems. Additionally, by leveraging the power of Windows,
the VMEC instrument has networking, documentation, and storage
possibilities not found in other eddy current instruments.
Currently customers can purchase the instrument and software
only or bundled with a computer specific to their application
as a turnkey system. Driver software will be released to allow
integrators and researchers to use the instrument in a larger
system for such applications as scanning and machine condition
monitoring.

The scanner below is shown on its shipping base within its
interlocked enclosure. Each system is custom designed and
programmed to customer specification. In addition to the programming
done for the controller, a sample control program is provided
with each system. |
